Our Business Story
On February 1, 1988, Ueli Schumacher opened the cycling shop on the Breite in Schaffhausen. Since then, Christian Ehrensperger has been running the branch store. The experienced mechanic Ehrensperger was a well known person in the bicycle world and rode in the elite category in his younger years as a road bike racer. After his cycling carreer, he served as the mechanic in the Swiss national team. He served as the mechanic for the team in the Olympic games 1992 in Barcelona, as well as, world championships in Stuttgart, Oslo, Sicily and Lugano. He maintained the bikes of world class
riders like Alex Zülle, Mauro Gianetti and Toni Rominger.
Radsport Schumacher, with its two branches in Sulz, AG and Schaffhausen, has always put their emphasis on excellent customer service. The adventure started with bicycles from Peugeot, Daccordi and the store brand Schumacher. Even though the manufacturers may have varied, the high level of service has remained.
On January 1, 2009, Christian Ehrensperger, took over the store in Schaffhausen and founded an independent LLC. The continually growing product range resulted in the demand for more display space for a great product selection. After almost 25 years at Lochstrasse, we were able to find a new location not far from the previous store. On October 13, 2012, we opened the doors at our current location on Hohlenbaumstrasse 99.
